Atomic Wallet (Desktop) Recovery – How to Prepare Your Files
Lost your Atomic Desktop password? We specialize in secure, offline recovery of encrypted Atomic wallet data on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Follow the steps below to prepare your files and request a free, no-obligation assessment.
What We Need
- Your Atomic data folder (encrypted wallet files + configs). Sending the entire folder is best.
- Password hints (see checklist below).
- (Optional) OS and Atomic app version you last used.
We do not need your 12-word backup phrase or private keys for password recovery.
Where to Find Your Wallet Files
Important: Quit Atomic Wallet completely before copying files to avoid corruption.
Windows%AppData%\atomic
(Binaries are in %LocalAppData%\Programs\atomic
– not needed.)
macOS~/Library/Application Support/atomic/
Linux
Copy your user’s Atomic application data directory (varies by distro/AppImage). If unsure, send an inquiry and we’ll guide you.
Tip: If in doubt, copy the whole atomic
folder including subfolders.
How to Prepare & Send Files (Secure)
- Close Atomic Wallet and wait a few seconds for it to exit.
- Copy the data folder (paths above) to your Desktop.
- Compress into
.zip
or.7z
and set a temporary password for the archive. - Submit the inquiry on our inquiry page. We will reply with a one-time, secure upload link for your encrypted archive. Please do not email files.
- Provide password hints (see checklist). Better hints = higher success rate. They also help us estimate cracking time.
Offline only: All recovery attempts run on isolated systems. We start with an independent assessment—no commitment required.
Password Hints Guide (What Helps Most)
- Length (exact/range): e.g., “8–10”, “12 exactly”.
- Character sets: lower/UPPER, digits, symbols (which?).
- Patterns: Word+year, capitalized word + 2 digits, ends with
88
, etc. - Words you reuse: names, brands, pets, places.
- Dates/numbers: birthdays, anniversaries; format used (
DDMMYYYY
,YYYY
?). - Typical endings:
!
,!!
,123
,2020
, etc. - Language/keyboard: non-English letters, QWERTZ/QWERTY, frequent symbols.
Even small details can massively reduce the keyspace—saving time and improving success odds.
Independent Assessment: Please consider this as an independent assessment of your recovery problem. Submitting your case does not commit you to any service or payment.
Privacy: Your files are handled confidentially and aren’t shared with third parties. We only use them to evaluate your recovery request.

Do you need my 12-word backup phrase?
No. We only need the encrypted wallet files and your password hints. Never share your seed phrase or private keys.
Should Atomic be running while I copy files?
No. Always quit first to avoid copying open files that could corrupt the backup.
